No Sew Fabric Valance

I saw this cute window valance idea from a blog where they used ribbon.  I decided to use fabric because it is so much cheaper and you can make the width of the strips whatever you like.  Here is a small one I made for the girls bathroom.

I used four different fabrics but you can really be creative and use as many different fabrics as you want.  I also wanted to create a matching one for my daughters headboard, so I used 1 yard of each fabric we picked out.  Next you need to lay the fabric out and cut it into 18 inch long strips and about 1 1/2 inches wide.  The nice thing is when it's hanging, you won't notice any uneven lines.

Next cut clothesline the length of the window with enough room on either side to attach or hang the valance.  Then just start to knot tie the fabric strips in a pattern all the way across the clothesline.  I did most of the cutting and then let my girls do the tying.
